The band

Pearl Jam is an American rock band formed in 1990 in Seattle, Washington. The band's lineup consists of founding members Jeff Ament (bass guitar), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Mike McCready (lead guitar) and Eddie Vedder (lead vocals, guitar).

My album

Ten is Pearl Jam's debut studio album, released  in 1991. Most of the songs began as instrumental jams, to which Vedder added lyrics about topics such as depression, homelessness and abuse.

My song

Jeremy (Ten, 1991). Why? Because of the crescendo of rythm, lyrics and voice from start to finish. The song picks up strenght as it unfolds and ends with an explosion of emotions. My absolute favourite!

Did you know?

The song Jeremy was inspired by a newspaper article Vedder read about Jeremy Wade Delle, a high school student who shot himself in front of his English class in 1991, the same year of Pearl Jam's debut album launch.
