The band

Green Day is an American rock band formed in the East Bay of California in 1987 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt. For much of the band's career, they have been a trio with drummer Tré Cool.

My album

Dookie (1994) is the third studio album and major label debut by Green Day. Written mostly by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, the album is mostly based around his personal experiences, with themes such as boredom, anxiety, relationships and sexuality.

My song

Basket Case (Dookie, 1994). Why? Killer start with just Armstrong's voice and guitar before the drums and bass line joign in for a power song.

Did you know?

In 2010, a stage adaptation of American Idiot (2004) debuted on Broadway. The musical was nominated for three Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Scenic Design, and Best Lighting Design, winning the latter two.
